Frequently asked questions
These are the questions companies ask us most often before the first conversation. If your question is not here, write to us — we also answer case-specific questions.
Getting started
How does working together begin?
With a short conversation about what you plan to do: the idea, the approximate size of the investment and when you want to start. After that we tell you whether a suitable programme is open, what has to be prepared and what the realistic timeline is. The conversation commits you to nothing.
How long does preparing an application take?
It depends on the programme and on how much material already exists. Simpler applications take a few weeks; larger investment projects with a business plan and technical calculations take several months. After the first conversation we give you a concrete timeline for your case.
How do I find out whether my project fits a programme?
The quickest way is our eligibility check — five questions that show which funding directions are worth considering in your situation. It is indicative; the precise answer comes in a conversation once we know the details of the project.
Can you help if the application is already written?
Yes. We are often asked to review a finished application before submission, or to take over a project that has stalled. In that case we first read what exists and tell you what is worth changing.
Funding and costs
Which types of funding do you work with?
European Union Structural Funds, Recovery and Resilience Facility programmes, Norwegian and EEA Grants, ALTUM loans and guarantees, plus bank and private financing. The best solution is often a combination of these.
How much of the cost is covered?
Every programme has its own maximum support and support intensity, and it also differs by company size and region. On each programme page we set this out in plain language — the maximum support, the share of costs covered and what is and is not eligible.
Does the funding have to be repaid?
It depends on the instrument. Grants are not repaid, but the project conditions must be met and the result kept in place for a set period. Loans and guarantees are repayable financial instruments, sometimes with a capital rebate. Before you choose, we explain what each option means in practice.
What happens if the project is not approved?
We go through the reasoning behind the decision and look at whether it is worth improving the application for the next round or whether another programme fits better. Over more than 20 years we have prepared more than 500 projects and over 90% have been approved, but no consultant can give a guarantee.
Working with us
Who will actually work on my project?
Each project is led by one of the partners — Lauris Bronušs or Rinalds Trukšs. The partner assigns one or more experienced project managers to the work. You will not have to repeat the same thing to multiple people.
Do you help after the funding is granted?
Yes. Approval is only the start: procurement, payment claims, reporting and project amendments follow. We take on the administration of the project through to closure, so you do not have to build a separate team for it.
How many projects have you prepared?
The partners have worked in funding since 2004 and in that time we have prepared more than 500 projects, of which over 90% were approved. A number of them, with the actual amounts, are described in the success stories section.
Which industries do you work in?
Mainly manufacturing — wood processing, metalworking, food, building materials — as well as technology, logistics and service companies. Understanding the technological process matters to us, so before an application we always look at how the company works.
Have a different question?
Write it in a few words — we will answer and tell you whether a programme fits what you have in mind.
