Support for Business Greening with Capital Rebate

Who can apply

Micro, small, medium, and large commercial enterprises registered in Latvia without tax debts exceeding 150 EUR and not in financial difficulty can apply. Support is not available for primary agricultural production, fisheries, aquaculture, tobacco product manufacturing, and gambling.

Maximum support

The total amount of the capital rebate can reach up to 3 000 000 EUR per group of linked enterprises (up to 300 000 EUR in Riga, Pieriga, and for large enterprises).

Share of costs covered

The capital rebate is up to 30% of the ALTUM or bank eligible cost loan principal.

What can be paid for

• Energy efficiency building works and engineering system renovations in non-residential buildings
• Introduction of an energy management system
• Recovery of secondary energy resources and waste heat in existing equipment
• Purchase of energy-efficient equipment or machinery replacing existing equipment
• Purchase and installation of renewable power or heat generation equipment for self-consumption
• Purchase and installation of energy storage facilities
• Installation or reconstruction of connections to the power grid or district heating
• Development and implementation of new environmentally sound products or technologies

What cannot be paid for

• Costs for purchasing N1, M1, N2, and M2 category vehicles
• Costs that only achieve energy efficiency class E level in a building
• Activities that were completed or fully implemented before the support award decision
• Co-financing or pre-financing of other European Union fund projects
• Repayment of existing or new liabilities, including debt interest
• Nuclear energy production

Key conditions

• The project must achieve at least a 20% or 30% primary energy saving or emission reduction
• At least 80% of generated renewable energy must be used for self-consumption
• Minimum borrower co-financing is 10% of eligible costs for the ALTUM loan
• The building must be owned or leased for at least 10 years and registered in the Land Register
• A certified expert assessment or simulation is required before applying
• The applicant must not have tax debts exceeding 150 EUR

How to apply

The application must be submitted electronically via the ALTUM client portal mans.altum.lv. Before applying, prepare a certified expert assessment, building permits or technical conditions, a cost estimate, and financial documents.
